RoHS2.0 Ten Mandatory Control Substances

Introduction to RoHS

RoHS is a mandatory standard developed by the EU legislation, its full name is "on the restrictions on the use of electrical and electronic equipment in the use of certain harmful ingredients" (Restriction of Hazardous Substances). The standard was officially implemented on July 1, 2006, mainly used to regulate the electrical and electronic products, materials and process standards, making it more conducive to human health and environmental protection. The purpose of this standard is to eliminate lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls and polybrominated diphenyl ethers in electrical and electronic products (note: PBDE correct Chinese name refers to polybrominated diphenyl ethers, polybrominated diphenyl ethers are wrong ) A total of 6 substances, and focus on the provisions of the lead content can not exceed 0.1%.

On June 4, 2015, the EU Bulletin (OJ) issued the RoHS 2.0 Amendment Directive (EU) 2015/863, which formally included DEHP, BBP, DBP, DIBP in the List of Restricted Substances in Appendix II, with a total of ten mandatory Controlled substances. See the table below:

After the issuance of this revised order, the EU member states should be December 31, 2016 before the directive to the national regulations and implementation. (Except medical and monitoring equipment) shall meet the requirements of the restrictions. On July 22, 2021, medical equipment (including in vitro medical equipment) and monitoring equipment (including industrial Monitoring equipment) will also be included in the scope of control. In addition, the toy products that are already subject to REACH Annex XVII, Article 51, are not subject to the control of DEHP, BBP, DBP in this Directive.
